Mutual Fund Screening: What is the best way to find the one for me?

Kevin S asked:

I am getting started in the market soon (bit more research yet), and I want to kick it off with a mutual fund purchase. I need a screener that is free, but still has enough features to find what I need. Any sites or information is helpful. It must provide information for international funds (I plan on having my own diversified U.S. stocks, I don’t need to waste my time getting more only to pay fees on them). This includes emerging markets, regionals, globals, etc. Thanks!
