stock exchange and trading book?
hello! i’d like a well-done book, about stock exchange and tradin. I am a university student, and i search for a serious book which explains how stock exchange works, and the financial instruments (derivatives, future, stocks…). It should be not simple, but not impossible (i dont’ want a book only about techniacal analysis..). Thanks a lot, i’ll give 10 points to the best answer!

I’ve heard that if you have money in the bank or in your own retirement fund, the government won’t give you as much in college grants so you have to use this money. If I invest in stocks, will it affect college grants? If I stop investing before I go to college will they still see that I’ve invested and taking that as an income to decrease college grants?
I was going to start my own retirement plan with my own money(around 500-1000$ to start). I just turned 16 and I’m a junior in High School so I have a few years before college.

Looking for online discount stock brokers & free info for foreign stocks?
Filed Under Financial Planning | 4 Comments
I am interested in some foreign stocks that do not have ADRs (American Depository Receipt) available in US. Most brokers do not handle trades of foreign / global stocks. Meanwhile, the free information of foreign stocks is quite limited. Please advise some online discount stock brokers that do handle trades of foreign stocks (more than Canadian stocks), as well as free resources for financial statements of foreign stocks.
Thank you =)

shark investing vs. passive?
Filed Under Financial Planning | 2 Comments
I am going to begin investing in the stock market. I would consider myself a small investor as I don’t have much money. Do you think shark investing is a good idea for me? Has anybody had any luck using this method of investing? This method was created by James “Rev Shark” DePorre. Basically this method involves aggressive investing and preaches against traditional methods of investing like buy and hold. Or, on the other hand, is the traditional more passive method of investing better?

Buying stock as a gift?
Filed Under Financial Planning | 3 Comments
I’m trying to think of unique gift ideas, and buying a share of stock seems like the way to go. My question is this: Will the person I give the stock to have to pay anything at any point in time? Will there be any burdens that come with owning a share of stock? I don’t want to give them something that will be a hassle later on. Also, what are the benefits of owning a share of stock? Will they receive money periodically? I’m really a novice when it comes to this stock stuff, so if you can avoid using Wallstreet/Stock Market jargon while answering my question, I’d appreciate it.
